Some transfer targets for ‘Arry

Hey ‘Arry, rather than chuck away £25m on Defoe and Palacios, why not bid for these guys? Even this one would be an improvement. Don’t worry if you can’t afford to buy the entire first team squad – we can always bargain with any old tat we have lying around.

Redknapp – another failure for Spurs

There’s been no pretence on my part to like Harry Redknapp.  For me his tenure at Spurs is like giving a market trader a job at ‘Arrods.  In an earlier blog I lamented his appointment with observation such as “he’s crass, rarely takes a defeat on the chin without having a go at a referee […]

Tottenham and the Transfer Window

It’s the wheeler-dealer’s first transfer window at Tottenham and although Florin Raducioiu, Marco Boogers, Dani and Javier Margas are unlikely to arrive, there are some very familiar faces lined up.  I’m going to take a look at the rumoured ins and outs and give my own take on them.  Why?  Cos this is my column […]

Premier League Review 2008/9 [Half-Time Report]

Back in August I predicted how the Premier League might pan out. It’s time now to look back, laugh at or laud my predictions. How exciting… 1st Manchester United Currently: 3rd What I said: Man U retaining is not a banker … Rooney must be used effectively … Ronaldo is key man … What has […]

Selling viruses and spineless sackings

“I wouldn’t sell a virus to that mob” – Alex Ferguson on his relationship with Ronaldo-suitors, Real Madrid Does anyone outside of Glasgow inner-city suburbs know what that even means?  You won’t sell a virus?  Unless it’s in the hands of terrorists a virus is hardly a commodity. “It is spineless, the man who employed […]

Snorkeling with the big four

I’m going to link a few thoughts below so try to stick with me. The Tottenham revival I wouldn’t say Spurs revival (which has seen them jump a mighty one point clear of the relegation zone – but then again eighth place Portsmouth are only five points clear of it themselves) has seen them outplay […]

Keane and Berbatov: The Story So Far

Spurs fans were up in arms when Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov decided they could better themselves elsewhere this summer.  Indeed they were chosen by two of the most famous clubs in the world, Liverpool and Manchester United respectively. So for a combined outlay of over £50m, let’s see what the major players have gotten […]

‘Arry and other things

‘Arry Just on a side note, a radio bulletin this morning claimed that ‘Arry Redknapp is chasing his “fourth consecutive win” as Spurs manager against Dinamo Zagreb.  I ignored the obvious mistake and a few hours later after realising it was wrong they changed it to “third consecutive win”.  So I texted the radio station […]

‘Arry Bloody Redknapp!?

Oh dear. There’s no doubt that Tottenham were a sinking ship under Junande Ramos, a man afflicted by an inability to motivate, organise or coach players effectively.  How he could go from being one of the top managers in Europe with consecutive European trophies to one floundering at the bottom of the Premiership and losing […]
